Íñiguez: “I liked the connection with the crowd”

The arena vibrated yesterday with one of the most intense and emotional games of the season. Our coach, Roberto Íñiguez, didn’t hide his pride in the team’s performance after a tight elimination against a top-level opponent. “We were very close. The overtime wasn’t needed, and with the 3+1, it became too much for us. Before, it was a coin toss, and I really liked the final connection with the crowd,” said Íñiguez, who didn’t hesitate to call the match “one of the best games” of his career.

“Victories and defeats fade, but what remains are the moments, how you face them. And in that, we are champions,” Roberto emphasized.

Despite the defeat, the coach highlighted the team’s growth and their collective response to difficulties: “We played above our limit, and Zaragoza had a tough time.” That said, the coach lamented the 56-20 free throw disparity during the series. “It’s almost triple, and that makes the team’s effort even more impressive.”

Regarding the season, Íñiguez described it as “very good, but not excellent,” due to the “Cup. We could have won the title,” he argued before ending the press conference.
