Spar Girona learns potential rivals for the 2025-26 EuroLeague Women

Spar Girona has been officially confirmed as one of the 11 teams granted direct entry to the 2025–26 EuroLeague Women Regular Season, as announced this Monday by FIBA. The gironí club will once again compete among Europe’s elite in the second season of the revamped competition format, further establishing itself as a top-level presence in women’s basketball.

A total of 21 clubs representing 11 national federations have registered for the competition, which enters its second year under the new system introduced by FIBA Europe. Only 11 teams have earned direct qualification, including Spar Girona, who will join European powerhouses such as Fenerbahce Opet (Turkey), ZVVZ USK Praha (Czech Republic), Valencia Basket Club (Spain), Beretta Famila Schio (Italy), Sopron Basket (Hungary), VBW Gdynia (Poland), Olympiacos SFP (Greece), CIMSA CBK Mersin (Turkey), Flammes Carolo Basket (France) and Basket Landes (France).

The group stage draw and calendar will take place on Wednesday, July 23, in Munich, where Spar Girona will find out its opponents and the path ahead in this new European campaign.

In addition to the 11 directly qualified teams, another 10 clubs will battle for the remaining 5 Regular Season spots in two-legged Qualifiers to be held on September 17 and 24. The teams participating in the Qualifiers are: Galatasaray, Tango Bourges Basket, Casademont Zaragoza, Umana Reyer Venezia, DVTK Huntherm, Zabiny Brno, AZS UMCS Lublin, ACS Sepsi-SIC, Kibirkstis Vilnius and KKZ Crvena Zvezda.
