The Valencian point guard and team captain is retiring from 5&#215;5 basketball at the age of 40 to focus exclusively on the 3&#215;3 format, where she is an international and Olympic silver medallist at the Paris Games.<\/p><p>After two seasons wearing our jersey with passion and talent, Ygueravide has decided to close a brilliant chapter on the court. \u201cI\u2019m putting an end to a journey that lasted much longer than I ever imagined. If you\u2019d told me at 9 years old, I wouldn\u2019t have believed it. It\u2019s been a career I\u2019ve always enjoyed, and I take a little bit of all of you with me. I hope I\u2019ve been able to give something back to you too,\u201d she shared in an emotional farewell video.<\/p><p>With a long and international career, Sandra has left her mark in clubs across six different leagues: Ros Casares, Perfumer\u00edas Avenida, Arranz Jopisa de Burgos, Estudiantes, Hondarribia, Aix-en-Provence (France), Adana Botas, Hatay, Mersin, and Besiktas in Turkey; Santa Maria (Ecuador); CREF Hola Madrid, Wisla (Poland), Nadezhda (Russia), Uni Gyor (Hungary), ESBVA (France), Gernika, and Uni Girona.<\/p><p>From the club, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Sandra for her professionalism, leadership, and commitment. Thank you for everything, capi. We wish you all the best in this new chapter.
